Tradewinds title Anna Carries Water receives a charming review from Echo Induced Cohesion, a historian’s eye view of the world. Set in Jamaica, home country of author Olive Senior, this book tells the story of Anna as she fetches water each day for her family.

As writer Nathanal Bright describes, “There is something heart-warming about the desire of the titular character Anna, the youngest of a large group of children in a family, to share in the big person activities of her older siblings.” Bright goes on to describe this tale as “enjoyable to read for any age”. Bright also praises illustrator Laura James for their “beautiful artwork”, admiring the “vivid, full of bright colors” in particular. Worthy praise indeed for this charming and poetic family story.
