Tradewind’s title SOS Water receives a great review from CM Reviews who have listed this poignant and poetic tale as a highly recommended read. Written and illustrated by the award-winning Yayo, this story tells the tale of a sailor named Lalo, and Rosa, a goldfish looking for a home.
As reviewer Dave Jenkinson writes, “With a light touch in both text and illustrations, Yayo, deals with a most serious subject – the water pollution being caused by discarded single-use plastic water bottles.” This story follows Lalo and Rosa as they look for a safe and clean place for Rosa to live, however, in our modern world this proves to be a difficult task. Calling on the key purpose of this story, Jenkinson notes that, “Its environmental message (will) resonate with youngsters”, though the impact will likely be felt by adults and children alike.
