Tradewind’s title SOS Water receives a strong review from the Montreal Review of Books.
Tina Wayland of mRB praises writer / illustrator Yayo’s latest book, commenting that “the message washing through the story is powerful and compelling, presented in Yayo’s signature illustration style and providing children with a tangible takeaway about the world and the special roles they play within it.”
With humour and a touch of poetry, SOS Water features a sailor named Lalo, and Rosa, a goldfish, dealing with the pollution caused by plastic water bottles. Lalo wants to find a safe and clean place for his fish friend, but everywhere they go has been invaded by plastic water bottles.
mRB appreciates the story’s ending “that offers hope to young readers.”
