The Toronto Public Library compiled a list of books that they recommended students read for Black History Month 2018.
On the list is Arushi Raina’s When Morning Comes, published in 2016.
When Morning Comes is a blend of four unique perspectives, set in the Soweto Uprising in 1976. It’s a book about mustering the courage to stand up to the government and will strike a chord with youth today in light of the calls for changes to gun policies in the USA.
