Tradewind’s title The Freezies receives a 4-star review from the Canadian Review of Materials.

Closely following the lives of three young people in today’s Britain, The Freezies is a call for compassion and understanding for those fleeing war and oppression.

Written by Farrukh Dhondy, the book follows Suleikha, Leo and Kai, a group of 12-year-olds known as the Freezies, as they befriend the intriguing and larger-than-life Mr Christaki, a traveller who camps with his converted school bus on their village green. The Freezies eventually learn that Mr Christaki is a Syrian refugee and, together, the group of kids develop a scheme to prevent his deportation.

CM Reviews offers a “highly recommended” review of the book, celebrating it as, “A rich tapestry of diversity.”
